how many teams from each group pass to the next round in the gold cup?

i thought that in soccer's gold cup, two out of the four teams qualified to pass to the next round depending on how many points each had..but someone told me that its three out of four which doesn't make sense to me..anyone know the truth?

2. Rafa is right. That makes 8 teams, which is what's needed for the knockout rounds.
3. the top two teams from each group plus two best 3rd place team qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
